Longstone GAC Notes (Sunday, March 06) *In the Ulster League away to Ballinderry on Sunday, Longstone were defeated by the Derry side. Longstone’s best performers were Conor Doran, Michael Higgins and Eamonn Quinn. *Thanks to all the children for their good behaviour on the Youth Club trip to the Movies on Friday night, and to all the parents/supervisors on the night. And a big thank-you to Colette Martin of Art’s Shop who donated treats for the children which went down very well. *Longstone’s first game in the All County Reserve league, Division 2, is this Sunday away to Tullylish at 2pm. *Down v Cork game will be shown in Longstone Hall this Saturday night. Game starts at 7.30pm. *Down v Dublin game in Croke Pk., April 2, is an all-ticket game. 2011 members, adult and juvenile, can apply for tickets through the club. *Club membersip is £20 for adults before the end of April/£30 thereafter. Juveniles, U8 to U18, £5 per child or £10 for a family. *Lower Mourne Playgroup Table Quiz in Longstone Hall Friday, March 18, starting at 9.45pm. Youth Club will finish earlier at 9.30pm on the same night. *The ManAlive vehicle ‘The Man Van’ will be at Longstone hall on Monday, March 21, from 7-9pm to carry out free health checks and health awareness sessions for men. There will also be advice on a range of health issues, such as early detection of cancer. A number of speakers/coaches, including, Peter McGrath, Eugene Young, Tony Scullion and Jamesie O’Connor, will be giving advice on the day.
