Longstone GAC Notes

 (Sunday, March 10)

*Well done to everyone who helped make the Longstone Fight Night a very enjoyable night last Friday, including all the boxers who took part, the All Blacks ABC, sponsors and club members who helped in any way.

*Longstone reserves are home to Ballymartin in a challenge game this Saturday at 5pm. All players are asked to be in Longstone no later than 4.30pm.

*U-16 and Minor football training at the Valley Rd. pitch, Monday and Wednesday nights, 7.15-8.45pm. There are U-16 and Minor challenge games this Saturday at home to Saul. First game is the U-16 one at 11.30am and all players to be at Longstone for 10.45am.

*U-8 football training this Saturday morning from 11.15am-12.15pm in the Ambrose Sports Hall, Longstone.

*Youth Club this Friday, supervision rota for Primary Geraldine McCartan, Noreen McCartan, Mandy Lacey, Kieran Rooney, terry Trainor and Adrian Haughian, Secondary Aine Fegan, Joe Fegan and Chris Burden. The Youth Club will finishes next Friday, March 22, with a special night for Primary children as the Funhouse is coming to Longstone Hall. The cost is £3 per child. Please give names and money to Geraldine this Friday. Also on the last night there will be a Go-Karting night for Secondary children organised by Joe Fegan.

*Good luck to St Louis, including Longstone’s Daithi Young and Gareth McDowell, in their McLarnon Cup final next Monday, March 18, against St Michael’s, Lurgan.

*And good luck to the Down U-21s, with Longstone clubman Michael Hughes on the panel, next Wednesday in the first round of the Ulster championship against Fermanagh or Armagh.

*Down Camogie will run a Fashion Show on Thursday, April 4 in the Burrendale with some guest appearances on the card. For more information or to buy a ticket, priced £10, please contact Theresa Magorrian 07888 761240.
