Longstone GAC Notes

 (Monday, November 19)

*Longstone sent a team to the An Riocht P5 and under indoor gaelic football tournament on Sunday morning and the players acquitted themselves well against the different teams they played.

*The Longstone Youth Club made the trip to Downpatrick Cinema for P1 to P7 children last Friday and the children enjoyed their night away to see Madagascar. A Go-Karting night has been provisionally booked in Newry for next Wednesday, November 28 for all Secondary aged children, boys and girls, interested in taking part. Names and money, £15, should be given to Joe Fegan at Youth Club this Friday night so that arrangements can be finalised if sufficient there is sufficient interest. Youth Club Supervision rota this Friday night: Primary, 6.45-8.30pm, Pauline Rogers, Annemarie Martin, Sharon Rogers, Martin Cunningham, Terry Trainor and Damian Cunningham; Secondary, 8.30-10pm, Lynn Shields, Michael Haughian and Martin McComb.

*Lower Mourne are at home to Tullylish in their last group game of the South Down U-21 championship this Sunday.

*There is an indoor P7 and under gaelic football tournament hosted by An Riocht this Sunday from 10am-12.30pm approx which Longstone have entered.

*Houses are available in Longstone. Please contact the Housing Executive if interested.

*In preparation for this year’s AGM, to be held in the Longstone Clubrooms next Sunday, December 2 at 7pm sharp, nomination papers are now available for all full members of the club (not Juvenile), which can be obtained from the downloads section (Nominations & Motions) on www.longstonegac.com . Nomination papers are also available in the Hall or from club secretary Damian Young. Please note that consent must be sought from those you choose to nominate, and submitted directly to the club secretary no later than today (Wednesday, November 21). Nominations, motions and recommendations must also be signed before submission, otherwise they will be void. All members and supporters are warmly invited to attend.

*Please contact Dympna Rooney or Emmett Haughian snr for details of the new Down Clubs’ Draw for 2013 and committee members are asked to make their returns to Emmett by the night of the AGM Sunday, December 2 if possible.

*Juvenile Football & Camogie Awards Night in Longstone Hall on Friday, December 7.
