Longstone GAC Notes

*Congratulations to Rita Curran and Thomas Trainor who both won £125 from Longstone’s draw for those who bought Down Tickets and paid in full. Tickets can still be bought by direct debit, to help support the club and county, so if you are interested please contact Emmett Haughian snr, Dympna Rooney or any committee member today or tomorrow (Thursday is the closing date).
*Longstone had seven camogie members attend an Ulster Council Foundation coaching course held in Castlewellan on Saturday. The course tutor was Siobhan Coulter and it was a very useful day. Thanks to all club members who gave up the day to attend this worthy course which bodes well for our young players who will benefit from the coaching.
*Training continues for the club camogie teams from U-14s up to Seniors on Wednesday nights from 7.30pm in Longstone. Thanks to all who have registered to play camogie this year-you are very welcome.
*Longstone GAC Dinner Dance/Awards Night will take place next Friday the 1st, in Longstone Hall. Tickets are £10 and can be obtained from any committee member. Will committee members please let the club chairman or secretary know by this Sunday night their ticket request numbers.
*Juvenile football meeting tomorrow (Thursday) from 7.30pm in Longstone Hall to arrange team mentors for this year, U-8 up to Minor level. Please attend if interested in helping with a team this year or for more information contact Joe Fegan 07738 810909.
*Registration Night for juvenile football players this Friday in Longstone Hall at 7pm. See Dympna Rooney. All players must be registered to be allowed to play for the club in 2013 and fee is £10 per child, up to £20 max within a family.
*Youth Club this Friday, Primary 7-8.30pm and Secondary 8.30-10pm. Supervision rota for Primary (6.45-8.30pm) is Kirstie Smyth, Sharon Rogers, Annemarie Martin, paul Rooney, Denis Cotter and Damian Cunningham, and Secondary (8.30-10pm) Lynn Shields, Martin McComb and Feargal Young.
*The Youth Club have organised a trip to see the Belfast Giants ice hockey team play in The Odyssey on Saturday evening, February 16. All youth club members can attend, primary or secondary, and the cost is £10 per child and £10 per parent/guardian. Please give names and money to Raphael Haughian this Friday night at the Youth Club. Primary children must be accompanied by an adult.
*Full committee meeting next Tuesday the 29th at 8.30pm.
*Minor Training continues on Monday and Wednesday nights in the Ambrose Sports Hall at 7.30pm. All players to attend please.
