Longstone GAC Notes

(Sunday, March 27)

*On Sunday Longstone hosted the U12 Go Games Series 2 and took part in an enjoyable blitz along with Burren, Shamrocks B, Glasdrumman, Tullylish and Clonduff.

*The Reserves have two games this week: this evening (Wednesday), away to St John’s at 7pm & on Sunday, home to Annaclone at 2pm.

*The U12s will take part in Go Games Series 3 this Sunday, starting at 11am in Atticall. The teams taking part are Atticall, Longstone, Clonduff B, Mitchels, Rostrevor and Clonduff.

*First game for the club’s juvenile teams in the South Down leagues are: U14 home v Ballymartin on Monday, April 11 at 7pm, U16 home v Glasdrumman on Thursday, April 14 at 7pm and U12 home v Drumgath on Sunday, May 8 at 11am.

*In the All County leagues the Seniors are home to Kilcoo on Friday, April 15 and the Minors will start on Tuesday, April 19-detaiIs to be confirmed.

*Good luck to Down U21s, captained by Longstone’s Conor Poland, in their second replay of the Ulster championship tie against Tyrone at the Athletic Grounds, Armagh this evening.

*Sport NI Circuit Sessions for Ladies in Longstone Hall continues this Thursday (second evening) from 6-7pm. It involves one minute sessions of various exercises, such as sit-ups, press-ups, skipping together with boxercise. All ages are welcome and the activities can be taken at your own pace. If you want to try it out turn up at 6pm tomorrow evening. Cost is £2.

*Full committee meeting next Tuesday night at 9pm.

*The Scholarship Application Form for Juveniles who are members of GAA clubs, including Longstone, and want to attend a Gaeltacht College Course this summer should be completed. Applications are to be filled in electronically and returned via e-mail to the address on the application form by Friday 29th April 2011.
