Longstone GAC Notes

 (Sunday, January 27)

*U-8, U-10 and U-12 indoor camogie starts this evening (Wednesday) in Longstone from 6.30-7.30pm and all beginners are welcome. Parents are very welcome to come along and get involved in the supervision of these groups. Please contact Ann Rogers 07761 879024, club Children’s officer, for a vetting form if you wish to help out.

*Training continues for the club camogie teams from U-14s up to Seniors on Wednesday nights from 7.30-9pm in Longstone.

*Longstone GAC Dinner Dance/Presentation Night is this Friday night in Longstone Clubrooms. Food served at 8pm, Music with Tiny and Admission is by Ticket only.

*No Youth Club this Friday night due to the club dinner dance. The Youth Club have their own page on Facebook containing the latest information and various photos. Check it out. The Youth Club have organised a trip to see the Belfast Giants ice hockey team play in The Odyssey on Saturday evening, February 16. All youth club members can attend, primary or secondary, and the cost is £10 per child and £10 per parent/guardian. There are a few places left-names and money to Raphael Haughian or Geraldine McCartan no later than this Friday. 

*All players who want to play U-16 football this season should go to Longstone Hall next Monday 4th at 7.15pm for a meeting, and training also commences on that night, the 4th, from 7.30-8.45pm, indoors in the Ambrose Sports Hall. All players to attend please.

*Minor Training continues on Monday and Wednesday nights in the Ambrose Sports Hall from 7.30-8.45pm. All players to attend please.

*Well done to two of our girls who play football for Ballymartin, namely Taylor Poland and Caitlin Trainor, who have recently been selected for the Down U-14 and U-13 football squads.

*Senior & Reserve players membership is due and cost is £40. Please pay Dympna Rooney at the Lotto draw this Sunday night. Minor players membership also due at £10.

*Condolences to the family of Felix McAlinden, who played for Longstone early in the club’s history, and passed away recently in England.

*The 2013 programme of Fixture nights has recently been released and the nights concerning our club teams are: Sunday U-12 football 11am & Reserve football 6.30pm, Monday U-14 football & occasional Senior, Tuesday Minor football & U-14/U-16 camogie (alternate weeks), Thursday U-16 football, Friday Senior football & Minor camogie, Saturday U-8 & U-10 Blitzes (2nd and 4th Sat of month) 10-1pm & U-12 camogie 11am.
