Longstone GAC Notes
(Sunday, October 07)
*Longstone were second best to Mayobridge on Sunday evening in the semi-final of the senior championship in Pairc Esler. Longstone started quite well to lead 2-0, but the Bridge’s first score was a goal and this spurred Mayobridge into action. At half-time Longstone trailed 0-5 to 1-7, but a comeback never materialised, as was the case last week, and Mayobridge scored four points in 3 minutes at the very start of the second period to severely dent Longstone’s hope to get back into this game. As the half wore on the Bridge grabbed three more goals to seal the win, as Longstone were unable to repeat their quarter-final heroics of a week earlier.
*Longstone U-11s will take part in a league series of games this Sunday in Glenn, starting at 10.30am. The other teams taking part are Rostrevor, Tullylish, Clann na Derg, Mitchels and Glenn.
