Longstone GAC Notes

(Saturday, May 28)

*The reserve team were away to Banbridge on Friday evening but did not put in a good performance, apart from Kieran Rogers and Gerard Quinn. At half-time the teams were level at 7-7 but the home side gradually pulled ahead in the second period to win by seven points.

*The U14s were at home to Clonduff B on Monday evening of last week and once again the conditions were difficult due to the gale force wind. The home side played good possession football against the wind and took very good scores to go in leading at the break. Longstone overall dominated during the second period of the game and they finished comfortable winners on the scoreboard. Tony Young, Gerard Gilmore and Ryan Rafferty gave little away in defence, Darren Fitzpatrick worked tirelessly in midfield and up front Conor Shields, Daithi Rogan and Andrew McVeigh all showed very well and worked hard. The U10s continued their good form in the Mourne League away to
Glasdrumman on the same evening and won both games. In the 1st game Niall Sloan, Taylor Poland, Christopher Burden and Shane McDowell were all in top form, and in the second game Erin Rogers was dominant in midfield while Dermott Martin, Dylan Poland and Conor McPolin kicked some great scores. Both teams played some lovely football. Well done to all the players.
