*Longstone took part in the first round of Scor na nOg on Friday night in Glasdrumman. The Instrumental group of James, Jack and Matthew McAstocker and Dermot Martin came second and are through to the semi-final in Annaclone this Sunday evening. Rebecca Shields sang brilliantly and was unlucky not to be sent through to the next round. The Quiz team, namely, Daithi Young, Paudie Fegan and Aidan Rogers won and are through to the South Down final in Banbridge Parish Centre on Sunday, November 6. *Youth Club Registration Night this Friday in Longstone Hall at 7.30pm. Cost is £5 per child. Any parents/guardians who cannot attend this Friday should contact Roisin Rooney, 07913 853080, send their registration money in and give a suitable date for a supervision night. Each person will be asked to supervise at least one night for about 2 hours over the winter, either primary or secondary, depending on your child’s age. A rota will be drawn up by the end of the month. The first night of Youth Club will be Friday, October 28, Primary 7-8.30pm and Secondary 8.30-10pm.
*U-16 panel will meet up on Thursday nights, starting tomorrow, in Longstone Hall. Bring your trainers.
*U-8 football practice continues this Saturday in Longstone at 3.30pm. Please bring trainers and football boots.
*There will be a Foundation Level Coaching day in Longstone on Saturday, October 29, run by the Down County Board. All team mentors are required to have undertaken such a coaching course, before being involved with a club team. If interested please contact club assistant secretary, Damian Young, 07843 171293, as soon as possible.
*Longstone GAC will be providing its usual Halloween activities on Monday October 31 with a Fireworks display at 7.45 sharp, followed by refreshment for kids and adults in the Hall afterwards. There will also be face painting and a children’s magic show with Horace Jay, about 8.30pm. So come along and enjoy this family event.
*Mass for deceased members will take place in Longstone Hall on Monday, November 14, at 7pm.
