*Longstone have teamed up with Glasdrumman for the Down U-21 League this year and will play under the name of Lower Mourne in Group D. First game is away to Saval this Sunday at 12.30pm. The team had a chance last week to play together for the first time in a game away to Mayobridge. Training tonight (Wednesday) at 7.30pm in Longstone and all eligible players are welcome to attend.

*Club Draw tickets now on sale in Longstone. Payment is either by standing order, £10 per month for 12 months, or full payment at the start. If interested please contact club co-ordinator, Dympna Rooney, on 078284 57610. The Prize Fund is £110,000, with several prizes distributed each month, and is being overseen by the Down County Board.

*U-16 panel practice tomorrow night (Thursday) in the Ambrose Rogers Sports Hall.

*Camogie meeting for Junior players this Friday in Longstone Hall at 7pm. Last year’s panel and any new players willing to take part are very welcome. Also, the camogie club requires more volunteers to help out in any small way you can, such as helping to manage a team, sponsorship or otherwise. Please contact Ann Rogers, 077618 79024, or any camogie person within Longstone.

*No Youth Club this Friday. The youth club resumes next Friday, November 11 at usual times 7– 8.30pm for primary school and 8.30 – 10pm for secondary school. Anyone wishing to attend the Youth Club, and has not registered yet, must please do so on Friday the 11th. Parents note that when you register children for youth club you will be asked to go on the rota for supervision. It will only be a few nights over the course of several months to spread the supervising duties between many rather than just a handful of people.

*St Joseph’s Pipe Band, Longstone, won an All Ireland Title at the Fleadh Cheoil back in August. To celebrate this terrific achievement Newry & Mourne Council have helped organise a night for this Friday, November 4, in Longstone Hall. Part of the night’s activities will include a Disco and Doors open from 9pm. Everyone welcome.

*U-8 football practice continues this Saturday at 3.30pm, indoors in Longstone Hall.

*Good luck to the club’s Trath na gCeist/Quiz team who will take part in the South Down Scorn a nOg Final this Sunday in Banbridge Parish Centre. The first event is due to start at 6pm.

*Mass for deceased members will take place in Longstone Hall on Monday, November 14, at 7pm.

*Juvenile kitbags, for players aged 12 and below, are on sale at £23. Please contact Dympna Rooney on 078284 57610 if interested.
