Longstone GAC Notes

(Sunday, January 09)

*Child Protection Course in Longstone Hall next Tuesday, January 25 from 7-10pm, in Longstone Hall. Anyone who is involved with juveniles e.g.in a football or camogie team should attend and please contact Damian Young 07843 171293 to confirm your attendance.

*Longstone GAC Dinner dance will take place next Saturday, January 29, in Longstone Hall. Tickets can be obtained from Dympna Rooney on Wednesday January 19 and 26 at 8pm, and this Sunday at 9pm, and cost is £15.

*The Southern Education & Library Board are running an OCN Level 1 Leadership In Youth Work Course starting next Monday January 24 and running for 8-10 weeks. The venue has yet to be decided but it will be local and transport can be provided if requested. The course is open to 15 - 17 year olds and is free. To obtain an application form please contact Joe Fegan on 07738 810909. There are already a few people from the club registered for the course and it is a good chance to gain this recognised qualification which is useful for CVs etc.

 *The SELB have organised a Youth Programme for 13 - 17 yr olds in Longstone Hall starting Wednesday January 19 (tonight). It will run for 6 - 8 weeks and all are welcome. There will be fun interactive workshops each week with themes such as Team Building, Communication and Confidence Building addressed and it will run from 6-8pm so come along and try something a bit different.

*SELB Top Club 2011 Talent Contest (e.g. singers, dancers, musicians, novelty acts) will take place on February 15 in JIMS, Kilkeel. There will be 3 categories: Primary School, U14's and 14-17yr olds with the winners going through to a Grand Final. Anyone interested in taking part please contact Joe Fegan on 07738 810909.
